Howdy! Seems like we all have even more time/excuses for endlessly scrolling lately. While the world has us hibernating involuntarily, I've been thinking about how I'd love to dress in whatever I find most comfortable, and wear it with pride. I don't know why that seems so...difficult sometimes. I often feel an invisible pressure to look semi-normal, even when sometimes my mood has me feeling like...what if I mixed these olive green shell joggers with this iridescent wrap top and just...lived my best life, dammit?

Then, I was introduced to a beautiful instagram account via a very sunny + pleasant video that Jenny (AKA @wearilive) posted months ago: GRAMPARENTS. It's like a visual moodboard for where my ideal self would like to be right now. The 60+ set (I assume) photographed and collected for sartorial inspiration. They're walking to Nordstrom Rack. They're carrying produce home. They're listening intently to the self-guided tour audio blasting through the complimentary museum headphones while staring at a Mondrian, no doubt. I would like to be them. I will be them, one day. But for now, I would like to dress like them. Let's explore, shall we?

1.

Wow, can I live, sir???!!! First of all, thank you for reminding us that trench coats are always a solid sartorial choice and, um, your bag, sir? Sir. It's amazing? God bless! 👉🏾 Trench dupe | bag dupe

2.

Absolutely would wear! Those sandals look like something I've seen at a thrift store hundreds of times but have yet to pick up: seems like a sign! The bag of produce? 👌🏾👌🏾 Similar skirt

3.

Supremely classic menswear look I would love to borrow. 👉🏾 Similar jacket | similar loafers

4.

Let's all just agree we would all be better off with a jacket like this lady's wearing. I mean, I wanna go wherever she's stomping off to cos, like, the vibes are incredible! 👉🏾 Similar jacket

5.

Airport chic out in these streets! You usually see these types of butter stick outfits paired with chunky sneakers, but I like the idea of some chill black loafers as worn here, just to mix things up. You can find a cute and reasonably priced version of this here.

6.

First of all, yes. I agree with @bl_va: this account is gold. And this man proves a little gold chain can go a long way. This look is the ideal minimal basic 'fit we can all get behind. Similar jewelry | similar blazer

7.

Mmhmm. I'm going to end this post on this supreme example of gramparent-chic. This woman has chosen comfortable, flowy items, layered under a chic black trench. She's got errands to run (don't we all?) in her basic white sneakers and she's topped it all off with an enviable hat choice. 👉🏾 Similar skirt | similar top | similar trench | similar hat

Honestly? Same.
